Okay, I’m going to give you the inside scoop. Our family would highly recommend this beach!!! This was a quick walk, which is great when you have children or elderlies with you. Another great thing is the parking is so close, not like some of the beaches in WA where you park a mile away and the beach is so wide it feels like another mile to get to the actual water. If you have some exercise enthusiasts in your group they may enjoy climbing the stairs up to the street we prefer to pay for the parking and unload right at the beach. Park right next to the beach, unload, play time begins. We did not find beach rentals at this property but we did find a GREAT PLACE to rest and enjoy some time in the sun and sand. We spoke to locals, googled and looked through online sources and our hotel sources for which beaches to go to. While in sunny California we visited a different beach every day. We took a quick 4 day trip to California to visit our son and to feel the SUN on our bones again as we begin another long winter in the Pacific Northwest. Guess that's it, it's a family beach, it's beautiful, the waves aren't too big for kids, the lifeguards are very helpful, there are fire rings, but for charcoal only now, I think, you can watch the boats come and go into the harbor, it has volleyball courts, it has showers, newly remodeled bathrooms, it has a snack bar, and you might see dolphins and seals. Tip #3-Forgot something? There is a Smart and Final grocery store that just opened where Albertson's used to be on PCH, and a Rite Aid next to that. Tip #2-Weekend parking on Ocean Blvd.-BE CAREFUL, there is a No Parking zone by the beach entrance, and even if other cars are parked there, don't! They do ticket, and it's around $80.00 now. And please remember where you parked, the streets are alphabetical flowers. The hill is easy to walk down, but coming back up after a day at the beach can be tough for all. There is a loading and unloading zone down the hill, so if your car is packed, and you don't want to pay for parking on the beach ($15 all day, but lower by the hour) use this, drop off the kids, family, coolers, tent, and everything else, one person drives up the hill, parks, and walks down.
